As the government lift restrictions on life in England today, 19th July, we are still looking at the ways in which we can reassure our visitors, staff and volunteers that we are keeping you safe whilst visiting the museum and Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery.

We have reviewed our COVID safety precautions to decide how we can best look after our visitors and staff in the coming weeks, and will be keeping the following procedures in place to ensure the safest environment going forward. We will be reviewing this practice monthly.

We ask you to help us keep everyone safe by sticking to the following precautions.

Please wear a mask/face covering
If you are able to do so, we ask that you continue to wear a mask inside our buildings. Our staff and volunteers will continue to do so too. Please note that children and adults who have an exemption do not need to wear masks.

Reducing crowds
We will continue to regulate the number of people we allow in certain spaces, to ensure they don’t get too crowded. Visitors are required to pre-book tickets for events and exhibitions.

Hand washing
Please continue to wash your hand regularly when visiting us.

Regular cleaning
We will be keeping up with frequent cleaning of surfaces and touch-points throughout the museum buildings.

Providing sanitiser
Hand sanitiser will continue to be available on entrance to the museum, as well as regularly throughout our galleries.
