Ashlie, Senior Workshop Leader
Ashlie has been working at the Museum since 2007. She has an NNEB Nursery Nurse Qualification, meaning she is highly skilled in working with children up to the age of 7. She has been working with children of all ages for over 30 years! Her love of dance and theatre means you will often find her perfecting her pliés and pirouettes in the museum garden. Ashlie’s favourite Roald Dahl book is The Twits and she does a startlingly accurate impression of Mr Twit when storytelling!
Trish, Senior Workshop Leader
Trish has been working at the Museum since 2010 and is passionate about the role of literature in children’s lives and engaging children in the wonderful world of the past from a young age. She has a BEd in Early Years and History and has been working with children and young adults for nearly 20 years. Trish’s favourite Roald Dahl book is The BFG and she has never knowingly refused a Wonka Bar!
And welcoming our new permanent members of staff, Julie and Hannah, who between them bring bags of experience and energy to our team!
Not forgetting Sarah Jones, the Creative Learning and Engagement Manager. Sarah has been teaching and working with children for a long time. She has a BA Music, BSc Zoology, PGCE in Primary School Teaching and Msc Conservation and International Wildlife Trade. With an extensive background in teaching, she joined the Museum in 2015 and now manages the Creative Learning and Engagement team. Her favourite Roald Dahl book is Matilda, but is also partial to the brilliant Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If she finds the Golden Ticket, she will take you all with her to the Wonka factory for a jolly good day out!
We also have a wondercrump team of Workshop Leaders, including Amy, Hailey, Louise, Maddy, Wendy and Melanie.
