A new exhibition celebrating Roald Dahl’s 100th anniversary
Roald Dahl is the world’s best loved story teller and his stories have enchanted children (and adults!) for more than 50 years. 2016 is the 100th anniversary of Roald Dahl’s birth and in celebration this new exhibition, Roald Dahl’s Buckinghamshire, explores the connections Roald Dahl has with the county and how it has been the inspiration for many of his fabulous stories.
Using the County Museum’s vibrant collections and images from the Roald Dahl archive, which is housed at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, visitors of all ages will be able to explore the places and people behind Roald Dahl’s fabulous stories in an enchanting woodland setting.
Also at Bucks County Museum is the fantastic Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery, where children of all ages can further explore Roald Dahl’s stories using the Museum’s collections – investigating insects inside the Giant Peach, exploring sound with the BFG, discovering what can be found underground with Fantastic Mr Fox and even being transported by chocolate television!
There is a marvellous programme of Roald Dahl inspired activities for families of all ages during the summer holidays and October half term. Just drop in and get creative! Full listings of our events can be found here.
