Fighting on Different Fronts: Representations of Women in the First World War
with Peter Vass, Oxford Brookes University
2018 marks important anniversaries for both the end of the First World War and for women’s suffrage and the right to vote. Drawing on previously unpublished material, Peter Vass examines the way women were represented in propaganda in the First World War, and considers how these altered images marked a change in the perception of women and their role in society.
